John, Catherine and Eliza came to Christchurch NZ on the Blue Jacket in 1866. There is a booklet "The Cartwrights of South Canterbury which has a lot of info about them in NZ. John and Eliza's father William (1800-1872) was a farmer and retired constable. I hope you all see this! I am currently doing a course on how to family history to better my plan. :-) Looking forward to following your blog. It's been such a family mystery, because Great Grandma Edith Cartwright died a few months after grandad was born and stayed silent about his childhood except for a few funny stories. So mum and her sister are looking forward to what I find and perhaps your great blog, Thanks for sharing.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02944328187687916184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5335070573508794204.post-51158276680983424542018-03-27T12:12:56.352+13:002018-03-27T12:12:56.352+13:00Wow!! Catherine died young, as a result my grandfather was passed around the Aunts. There is supposed to be an Aunty Maud, but it seems she could also be a cousin. I am so new at this. Mum was from New Zealand, obviously moved over to Australia when she married dad, you can find me on ancestry and heritage if you want more family details for your tree. :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02944328187687916184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5335070573508794204.post-22986399307449891132018-03-24T14:51:09.403+13:002018-03-24T14:51:09.403+13:00Hi Rachel.
